Hala Alkhalifa

Hala Mohammed Al Khalifa is an established artist and a cultural figure known for her positive engagement within the art and cultural scene both locally and internationally.

She has obtained a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Tufts University and The School of Museum of Fine Arts, in the United States (1999) and master’s degree in fine arts from the Slade School of Arts, UCL, United Kingdom (2002). In addition to teaching art at the university level over her career, she also held various positions in departments of arts, at cultural institutions that carried responsibilities related to the advancement of the artistic landscape, as well as taking part in local, regional an international art exhibitions as both an organizer and participant.

Her inspiration reflects her strong and rooted connection to her homeland, her national identity as an Arab Bahraini woman believing in the wealth of her heritage, history and culture.

Her strength is positively present when applying strategic roadmaps, creating, and setting.The tone for cultural infrastructure, programing, educational agendas, and community outreach. She believes in the role of arts and culture in enhancing and enlightening the minds of youth and people within any society. Furthermore, she has developed a strong ties in working under the umbrella of culture and diplomacy, creating conferences, publications, and opening fruitful dialogue and engagement between people working in the fields of culture and with young diplomats.

At the essence of these types of programs is working to create links, exposure and promotion of characteristics that are unique to our national identity.

She is also involved in various consultation projects, which allowed her to use her expertise to support various topics, from creating exhibition spaces and participations, public art projects, and artistic content development. Her strong affiliation with artist from the region makes way for exposing their talents in various platforms.
