Spiral Sculpture
In this work, the Portuguese artist Miguel Rodrigues presents a contemporary sculpture formed by two spirals that meet and intertwine in a continuous motion, evoking connection and harmony. The metallic mass is shaped through fluid folds that suggest a state of constant movement, as the spiraling paths intersect in visual balance, creating a harmonious dialogue between mass and void.
The metallic surfaces resemble flowing fabric frozen in a fleeting moment in time, giving the work a sense of continuous motion despite the rigidity of the material. The golden color enhances the sculpture’s luxurious visual presence, as light reflects across its layered folds, producing shifting luminous effects that add a dynamic dimension to the piece.
The sculpture is designed to reach a height of up to 11 meters, forming a spiraling composition that integrates with the surrounding architectural space. Positioned at the center of the villa’s staircase, it flows alongside the movement of ascent and descent, as if the work is interacting with the space and the movement of visitors around it.
With its striking vertical presence, the sculpture becomes a visual focal point within the villa’s interior, where art and architecture converge in a composition that embodies connection and continuity, while introducing a contemporary artistic dimension that reflects both elegance and motion.
